Represent your real service area

Apply the area cap and approximate travel guidance to a SAB or hybrid business.

This written lesson is currently in English. Thai lesson translations and narration are planned.

This lesson is ready to read and practise. English narration is awaiting production and source review; Thai narration follows next.

Understand

A fixed attraction and a tour operator may serve customers differently. An attraction that receives visitors at its eligible location is not a service-area business simply because visitors travel from many towns. Check whether the business actually visits or delivers to customers before treating service areas as applicable. A tour's itinerary is not automatically a profile service-area list.

If the actual operating model qualifies as service-area or hybrid, use genuine supported areas within the 20-entry cap and review Google's approximate two-hour driving guidance, including applicable exceptions. If the business does not qualify, retain a reasoned 'not applicable' decision instead of inventing areas. Protect hidden addresses and use the attraction's ordinary visitor information or booking page for details that belong there.

Practice example

A fictional museum welcomes visitors at its entrance. Explain why their home towns do not become the museum's service areas, and record this lesson as not applicable to its storefront operation.

RIM coaching: Separate visitor catchment, tour itinerary and operating model. A reasoned nonapplicability record is more useful than making an unnecessary profile change.

Practise

Which statement preserves Google's service-area guidance?

Apply to your business

List the areas actually served, keep within 20, and review travel beyond about two hours against current Google guidance and the real business model.

This action applies to service-area and hybrid businesses. A storefront-only business can document that it does not apply.

Keep proof of your work

A dated area list and operating-model explanation; exceptions require owner review, not an automatic suspension claim.

A saved note is an owner report. Evidence is checked separately; keep drafts, applied changes and public observations distinct.
