Keep regular and special hours accurate

Prevent customers relying on incorrect opening times.

This written lesson is currently in English. Thai lesson translations and narration are planned.

This lesson is ready to read and practise. English narration is awaiting production and source review; Thai narration follows next.

Understand

Opening hours should describe when customers can use the business, rather than an aspirational schedule. Review ordinary weekly hours against the actual operating timetable. Special hours communicate exceptions such as holidays or one-off closures. Where available and relevant, additional hours can describe services such as delivery or takeaway without changing the whole business's opening schedule.

Confirm the next exception with the person responsible for staffing and operations. Do not assume a holiday follows the usual week, or that every additional-hours field applies. Save a dated schedule and inspect the profile after an authorised update. Hotels use separate check-in and check-out information and do not take this ordinary-hours lesson; independently eligible venues on hotel premises have their own schedules.

Practice example

A fictional cafe opens as usual on weekdays but closes next Monday for a holiday. Compare its weekly hours with that exception, and prepare special hours without rewriting every Monday as permanently closed.

RIM coaching: Put the next holiday or timetable review on your maintenance list. There is no Academy requirement to invent hours for an unavailable field.

Check regular, special and relevant additional hours against the real operating schedule. Record upcoming exceptions.

Keep proof of your work

The schedule and a dated profile observation, with special-hour changes identified.
