Understand
A Business Profile helps customers understand a real business in Google Search and Maps. Start with the information customers need: what you provide, where or how you serve them, when you are available, and how to contact you. The five Academy paths follow Google's original playbooks, with different lessons for different businesses.
Begin by separating what you can observe from what the owner reports and what remains unknown. A public profile may not show every available editing control. Your starting record is a dated account of the business and its needs, not a score promising future rankings. If you do not manage a business, use the practice examples without inventing results.
Practice example
For a fictional neighbourhood cafe, record its name, public hours, menu destination and one unanswered question for the owner. Label this practice, rather than an inspection of a real cafe.
RIM coaching: Choose one useful customer goal, such as finding an accurate menu. Keep your starting checklist so you can compare the same facts later.
This is a RIM learning exercise. Use the official source to inform your decisions, then keep a clear record of your own work.
