Identify which profile features apply to this business.

This lesson is ready to read and practise. English narration is awaiting production and source review; Thai narration follows next.

Understand

A service business can be a storefront, a service-area business or a hybrid. Industry alone does not determine that operating model. A service-area business visits customers and does not receive them at its base; a hybrid does both at an eligible customer-facing location. Start by confirming the actual arrangement rather than assuming every tradesperson should publish a street address.

The services path applies Google's original service-business playbook to real business information, service coverage and a useful catalogue. Keep free profile work separate from optional paid Local Services Ads. Record the starting facts you can observe, owner-confirmed operations and unknowns. Your opening checklist is a baseline for later comparison, not proof of a completed change or a forecast of more leads.

Practice example

A fictional electrician works from home and visits customers without receiving walk-ins. Classify the business as service-area, keep the home address private, and record its actual service coverage as practice.

RIM coaching: Confirm the operating model before editing identity or areas. Choose a customer goal you can assess without buying ads or research tools.

This is a RIM learning exercise. Use the official source to inform your decisions, then keep a clear record of your own work.
